West Coast Senior Manager

The Senior Manager is primarily responsible for supporting delivery and business development activities in Southern California under the guidance of the West Coast Practice Manager.  The Senior Manager will become intimately familiar with Blue Skies’ West Coast resources, internal processes, clients and prospects and will be responsible for supporting the Practice Manager in all aspects to meet or exceed expectations.  The Senior Manager will ultimately expand service and increase value delivered to clients by growing and improving resources and ensuring delivery excellence.

  • Engage in client billable projects directly to build relationships, leverage opportunities and deliver excellence in various roles including but not limited to Program Management, Project Management, and Workstream Management
  • Manage projects and resources as a non-billable Engagement Manager (EM) including sales to delivery transition, project on-boarding, project execution monitoring, T&E and status updates, and project closure (as defined in the BSC EM training deck)
  • Mentor resources by providing industry and subject matter expertise (SME) within supply chain and life sciences
  • Mentor resources by providing Blue Skies and industry best practice management consulting guidance to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction on all projects
  • Individually sustain an average billable utilization of at least 80%
  • Own corporate initiatives in support of Blue Skies’ Journey to Excellence mission to achieve corporate G&Os
  • Mentor and guide Principal Consultants and Managers based on the Counselor/Counselee relationships (Organization Chart) and semi-annual goals and objectives (G&O) process
  • Refer expert candidates for potential BSC employment or subcontract
  • Participate in recruiting activities
  • Engage as an Engagement Manager (EM) and execute within the Targeted Account Selling (TAS) process (as defined in the BSC AM and TAS training decks) to define and pursue leads and opportunities
  • Expand Blue Skies presence on existing projects and accounts through billable or EM activities
  • Execute on opportunity pursuit by defining requirements and BSC value proposition, authoring proposals, developing opportunity specific collateral, honing resource resumes and supporting the Director as needed
  • Maintain expected levels of RSP activity as defined by the Director
  • Support business development activities as needed throughout the organization at the direction of the Director

Skills & Experience
  • Expertise in ERP/Supply Chain consulting and implementation leadership specific to SAP, Oracle E-business, JD Edwards or equivalent
  • Expertise in at least one project management methodology such as Waterfall, Six Sigma, Lean, Agile (Scrum/Kanban), SAFe, etc.
  • Subject Matter Expertise in Supply Chain business and operational processes
  • Experience in Program and/or Project Management within global transformational projects
  • Experience in Account/Client Management including identifying leads and opportunities, leading sales pursuit teams, writing proposals and closing business
  • Experience in delivering projects in the Life Sciences industry specific to Medical Devices or Pharmaceuticals
  • Experience with Data Conversions and Master Data Management (MDM) components of a large program initiative
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and/or software validation components of a large program initiative
  • Exposure to managing the quality management system (QMS) components (Document Control, Learning Management, Non-conformances, Complaints, CAPA, etc.) of a large program initiative
  • Exposure to organizational change management (OCM) components of a large program initiative
  • Exposure to IT/Technical or infrastructure components of a large program initiative
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • MS PowerPoint content development and creativity skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
